COURSE OVERVIEW

Breast imaging is a dynamic and challenging field in radiology. Participants have a responsibility to use the newly acquired information to enhance patient outcomes and their own professional development.  The debate over breast cancer screening continues to evolve, requiring updates to current practices.  In addition, technical advances such as digital breast tomosynthesis, whole breast ultrasound and breast MRI demand renewed examination, as new data supports their incorporation into previously conventional protocols. This conference analyzes the current controversies and presents the best practices for today’s breast imagers and staff.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

1) Identify breast sectional anatomy and physiological aspects that affect image quality

2) Recognize current and future application of 3D Digital Mammography.

3) Describe the use and application of Stereotactic Biopsy, Ultrasound Guided Biopsy and MR Guided Biopsy.
