Keep your cool: Six ways to beat the heat in the weeks to come.

Hot enough for you? There's no need to dread the summertime sizzle. Beyond your air conditioner, there's plenty you can do to survive the heat. Here, six ways to stay cool this summer:

Wear loose, lightweight, light-colored cotton and linen clothing.
Chill your pulse points — wrists, back of the neck, forehead, and temples — by cooling them with an ice cube or a cold compress. A wet bandanna around your neck works wonders if you’re planning to be outdoors for long periods of time.
Choose the right mattress: Some memory foam mattresses are made with petrochemicals that create hot zones, but natural memory foam, like Stay Well™ mattresses, “sleep cool” — which means a cooler, more comfortable night’s rest.
Eat smaller meals. The more you eat, the more heat you generate, since metabolic processes in the body burn fuel to generate heat.
Stay hydrated with fruits, vegetables, and plenty of water. When you’re well hydrated, your body makes a good sweat, and the job of sweat is to cool you down.

Consider using an interior fan along with your air conditioner to spread cool air throughout your home.
