Fruits and Vegetables With the Most Pesticides

Based on an analysis by the US Department of Agriculture, conventionally grown strawberries have more pesticide residue, on average, than any other fruit or vegetable. Second on the list is spinach, which averages twice as much pesticide residue by weight as any other crop, followed by nectarines, apples, peaches, pears, cherries, grapes, celery, tomatoes, sweet bell peppers, and potatoes.

Produce least likely to contain pesticide residue: Sweet corn, avocados, pineapples, cabbage, onions, frozen sweet peas, papayas, asparagus, mangoes, eggplant, honeydew melon and kiwis.
